Why Prince Harry Wasn't In Military Attire For The Queen's Funeral

While several royal family members attended Queen Elizabeth II's funeral in military uniforms, Prince Harry only wore a morning suit, despite having served 10 years in the armed forces. Though the press may be making a big deal of it, Harry released a statement asking "that focus remain on the life and legacy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II."
Harry did not don his uniform for the funeral because he lost the privilege to wear his colors to events, after becoming a non-working royal. His suit jacket at the funeral did bear his various medals, and he appeared in uniform at one of the final vigils dedicated to the late queen, after his relatives decided to make an exception for him.
Harry was also not allowed to salute the queen's coffin alongside his family members, including Prince William and Princess Anne. A source told Page Six that Harry absolutely wants the focus to be on the queen; he "was simply prepared to wear whatever his grandmother made plans for. He's focused on honoring her and that's it."
