What Are RuPaul Charles' Pronouns?
Lifestyle - News
Hundreds of drag queens have become full-fledged superstars thanks to "RuPaul's Drag Race," yet none of it would be possible without the person behind it all: RuPaul Charles. He's now talking about how flexible he is when it comes to his pronouns and gender.
In RuPaul's 1995 autobiography, published in the early days of his fame, the star wrote, "You can call me he. You can call me she. You can call me Regis and Kathie Lee; I don't care! Just as long as you call me." This flexible attitude toward gender and presentation is also evident in the star's Twitter bio; "You're born naked & the rest is drag."
To further confirm RuPaul's fluid use of pronouns, he tweeted, "If the intention is love, I don't give a sh*t about pronouns. We are everything & nothing at all." When asked about the meaning behind the drag, RuPaul said, "The strength and humanity it takes to maintain yourself and your dreams create many different layers of consciousness. That's where the humanity comes from."
