  • As a resident of the Pacific Northwest, Chelsea fills whatever free time she has hiking and backpacking. Most recently, her adventures took her to North Cascades National Park, the Sierra Nevada, the Wallowa Mountains, and the Canadian Rockies.

Experience

Chelsea is a freelance writer, poet, and pug lover living in Oregon. Her career in writing began during The Great Recession and took her to Harvard University where she developed multimillion-dollar gift proposals by day and wrote poems by night (and weekends). Since then, Chelsea has written a wide variety of materials, from solicitations and marketing copy to event scripts and grant reporting. Chelsea volunteers in her community as a writing workshop facilitator and recently taught a section on Ansel Adams and ekphrastic writing. In January 2022, Chelsea was awarded a fellowship for emerging writers by Fishtrap, a nonprofit agency based in the Eaglecap Wilderness.

Education

Chelsea earned her MFA in poetry from UNC-Greensboro and has a bachelor's degree in creative writing with a minor in modern dance. She also holds certifications in yoga and nonprofit arts and culture strategy.
