What We Know About Babyface's Divorce

After seven years of marriage, Kenny 'Babyface' Edmonds and his wife, Nicole Pantenburg, are getting divorced. The couple shared a joint statement with The Blast, placing emphasis on an amicable split, which said. "After much thought and with great sadness, we have decided to end our marriage. We continue to care and have respect for one another and share eternal love for our daughter and her well-being."

This will be the second divorce for the Grammy winner, who was married to Tracey Edmonds from 1992 to 2005. It was Tracey who filed for divorce with the Los Angeles County Superior Court, in which she stated "irreconcilable differences" as her reasons for the split (via Page Six). The couple has two sons together, Dylan and Brandon.

Pantenburg, known for her acting work on shows like "That 70's Show" and "Moesha," (via IMDb) dated Edmonds for seven years before they tied the knot in May 2014.

The couple asks for privacy

As noted by Page Six, Babyface and Nicole Pantenburg had a star-studded wedding with the guest list including Oprah Winfrey and Carole B. Sager. They share a 12-year old daughter, Peyton Nicole, and express that she is their top priority and that they desire to co-parent her (via the Daily Mail). Their statement does not address specific reasons for the split and it is still unclear when legal separation or divorce papers will be filed (via TMZ).

In a 2015 interview with NPR, the music mogul expressed his love for Pantenburg. "The big love of my life," he said. "That's a hard question because there's a lot of loves in my life. There's my wife, Nikki."

Sadly, there has been a shift in their relationship since that interview, and at the end of their statement to The Blast Edmonds and Pantenburg plead, "We ask for personal privacy for ourselves and our daughter as we navigate these new steps as a family."
